Associate

General Information & Eligibility: 

1. Position: Associate - 2 positions available

2. Post-Qualification Experience: 2 years post-qualification experience in commercial transaction advisory and contract drafting.

3. Description of the Role: 

We are seeking a motivated and hard-working Lawyer to join our transaction advisory practice. Your role will involve drafting documents, and working across practice areas associated with commercial transactions including, investment transactions, media, intellectual property, technology, and real estate.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in an intense training program in commercial laws and drafting legal documents.

  • Supervising research of Trainee Lawyers and working with the more experienced lawyers in the firm.

  • Attending client meetings and negotiations to observe and learn from experienced attorneys.

  • Conducting legal analysis and providing insightful recommendations to clients and colleagues.

  • Staying up-to-date with legal developments and regulations relevant to your assigned practice areas.

4. Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited law school.

  • Work experience in the field of transaction advisory and commercial contract drafting. 

  • Strong academic record with a focus on relevant legal coursework.

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with a high degree of proficiency in English.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards professional development.

  • Demonstrated passion for the law and a genuine interest in your work.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools.

We are seeking ambitious and highly skilled independent practitioners to join our team and contribute to our firm's continued success. As an Of Counsel attorney with MZD Legal, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized legal expertise to our clients across India, with the support and reputation of our team of highly skilled lawyers in Mumbai. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Client relationship development and overall client servicing.

  • Providing strategic legal counsel and guidance on complex legal matters within your area of expertise and the geographical jurisdiction in which you practice.

  • Collaborating with our team of attorneys to develop innovative legal strategies and solutions.

  • Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.

  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements with precision and attention to detail.

  • Participating in client consultations, negotiations, and court proceedings when necessary.

  • Staying updated on relevant legal developments, regulations, and industry trends.

5. Qualifications:

  • A degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the city/state in which you practice.

Internships

General Information & Eligibility: All internships are in-office.

1. 4th / 5th (5-year law course) year law student.

2. Preference is given to those who apply for longer-term internships (2 to 3-month commitment). 

3. Must be willing to work across practice areas.

4. We give preference to applicants who apply through their college or university placement offices. 


All our interns are paid a stipend depending on the duration of their internship with us.
